Profile
Sofía Lana is a Sociocultural Anthropology PhD candidate. She received her B.A. in International Relations in Buenos Aires, Argentina and her M.A. in Latin American Studies at UC San Diego in 2016. Her current research is situated in the Bolivian and Argentine Andes (Tropical and Subtropical, respectively) where she explores how various actors’ interests articulate over territory, resources, and knowledge production near melting glaciers. Her general research interests - which coalesce in arid environments with rapidly melting glaciers - lie at the intersection of climate change, territory, indigeneity, race, science, extractive development, and the state.
